There's a chance.

But I love this song so much because I think my relationship to healing and music is um catharsis through melancholy.

Now the first time I heard this song I didn't know that's what I was hearing in the song.

Because

All of the subjects that are mentioned in the song, they range, you know, they mentioned say uh the minor strike uh in the UK, they mentioned Beatles, they but there are all these nostalgia references.

that at the time this came out, I must have been maybe ten or something.

I didn't know what they meant.

But it didn't matter because there was something in the DNA of the music and the lyrics that elicited a feeling of sentimentality.
