actually, you know, making viruses and giving them extra copies of the ubiquitin gene to see if that extra capacity will help them live longer.

Kind of the opposite of what we're trying to do in cancer, where we're trying to take away that capacity, if you like.

That's a that's a great question.

And what what you need to do is to demonstrate some feasibility.

So we need to find some really interesting evidence, if you like, to get people interested in the idea.

We're lucky enough to have some very clever PhD students who work with us.

And it's the sort of stuff that we like to get PhD students to help with.

It's kind of a slightly out there idea, but it's something that they can spend some time chasing.

And we've been very lucky to get some evidence to support it.

Now it's preliminary data.

We haven't published it yet, it's not peer-reviewed.

Yet, but we can use that evidence to then go and look for funding.

So we can ask, you know, people like the National Health Medical Research Council or the US Department of Defense, we've just got some funding from them to help chase it, or the Motor Neuron Disease Research Foundation.

But you're right, doing this cross-field collaboration is tricky, and it's tricky even at the basic level of language.

Cancer scientists speak a different language to neuroscientists.

And so, as a cancer scientist, if I go into the neuroscience field and ask them for

Money, they don't know what I'm talking about.

So and and vice versa.

Yeah.

And so we've got to first thing we have to do is find common language, find common ground, and then kind of convince them that, well, why should they give some money, closely guarded money, because money's tight to someone from outside their field who really doesn't sound like they know what they're talking about because they're talking a different language.
