Well, just look at the response that we had in that episode to something that I said that I thought was fairly anodyne.
I could have put it in less punitive terms, I guess, with a nod to all of my English friends out there.
But the content of what we were talking about was not anything particularly extreme that you can't find in AJP Taylor or Pat Buchanan or something like that.

But when you have a topic, a historical topic, that the slightest deviation can provoke that kind of a response, that sends a message out to everybody of how they have to handle this topic.
You know, this is set about with taboos and
you know, forbidden areas that you're not supposed to.
Yeah, that's dangerous.
Right, right.
And so, but when that happens, you're naturally, I mean, this is going to, it's naturally going to be a topic that is just incredibly fertile because you have something that is relatively recent history that we have a ton of documentation on that most people still know very little about what actually happened.
And what they do know, a lot of it is not true or it's, you know, true in a way that
um doesn't necessarily uh prove the point that they've been taught to think that it proves you know and so um it's i mean i i figure we probably used to have uh you know we we probably used to have similar myths around the american revolution and things like that but as our demographies changed over time nobody really cares if you slander george no one ever went to jail for having different views on the american revolution okay just to be clear

And so, to me, look, every society, we need our myths.
I agree.
Right?
But those myths, it comes back to what purpose they're serving.
