And everybody's not going to feel probably the way I was at the time when it was coming down to the end part of it and
I kind of knew I was there at the end and realized that I was going to have to do something different.
I was going to have to start over in life and I was going to have to reinvent myself.
And I think a lot of athletes don't do that.
They don't take the uniform off.
They keep the uniform on.
The uniform I had to remove from myself and I had to...
I had to step up and become a man, a real man, which I talk about, I had to become a husband.
I had to become a father because a lot of times when you're playing, you think you're a husband, you think you're a father, but most of the time, your focus is always on what you're trying to achieve.
And once you have done that, you realize that it's over.
Now, next, I have to cross over into a new life for myself.
and become a much better person than I was when I had a uniform on.
to deal with life on life terms.
And it's a struggle.
It's not easy.
It wasn't easy for me.
It's not easy for anyone at any level, the military or wherever you're at, when you have to say goodbye to something that you have been a part of for a very long time.
But at the same time, you still have life left.
