It looked as if someone had left a pile of clothing on the floor.

Then I saw a slimy trail of blood.

It led to a six inch wide strip away from the clothing, across the floor, then up the wall to where it stopped at the open porthole.

As I bent for a closer look, it became all too obvious that what was left was little more than a sack of skin and bones.
