They can't do it like this.
And they're OK with that because it's not about winning the battle.
It's about fighting the war.
And to their supporters, they're fighting the war.
And you can't blame them for trying and losing.
Absolutely.
And the one thing that Congress is really good at is that spending money.
They don't like cutting anything.
And so that's why Trump is trying to go around them through this.
Also, through the creation of Doge, which is going to go nowhere fast.
But at least it looks like he's trying.
And at the end of the day, as soon as he tries to cut any discretionary funding, whether it's Social Security funds.
or medicare or medicaid it's going to be such a pushback from his own supporters he won't be able to do any of it so what is he going to do do a little trimming here and there but it'll be more deficits more debt to pay for his incoming tax cuts okay wait dave what do i hear do i hear you saying doge has no power and is basically uh i don't know smoke and mirrors
That's exactly what it is.
And Elon Musk has already walked back his commitment to trimming $2 trillion from the budget.
It was impossible to begin with.
Now reality is starting to set in.
But if Trump can blame Elon Musk when this is over, I think that relationship has a shelf life that's about to expire anyways.
Too many egos in that room.
So yeah, Doge is just a con.
