And, I mean, Stott sometimes played versus lefties and sometimes not, but he's a really good player, all-around player.
And I'm sure, like many times, your manager, in this case Topper, but any manager, they look at matchups.
I mean, you're looking at a situation as –
For us in this case, is Sosa gonna give us a better chance to win this game because this left-hander's really tough to hit versus a left-hander.
I mean, years ago, you didn't see left-handed hitters hit versus Randy Johnson, for example.
I don't care if he was an everyday player or not.
You'd play a right-handed hitter at that particular time because you thought it'd give you,
gave you a better chance to win that game.
But I think all in all, Bryson Stott is an everyday player, but at times I'm sure he'll rest him versus tough left-handers.
And then just the last thing, you referenced it, the Braves had the 14 straight division titles and one World Series, the Yankees all these post-season.
It doesn't seem like even the Dodgers
have figured out how to consistently win in the postseason.
I guess as you sort of evaluate where this team is, having won more games each of the past four years than the year prior, do you at a certain point say, you know, look, we're going to do what we can do to give us the best chance in the 162?
Or do you think there is some sort of formula that does exist in the postseason?
Well, I've always felt there is a difference
no question about it, 162 game because you're going through a marathon versus a short postseason.
And I don't like to say it's the randomness of the postseason, but anybody knows that if you play five games, start with a one game, if you play a one game postseason series or a best of three, there's a blue pit that can make a much bigger difference than it will in a 162 game season.
But I do believe that all in all, you build your club
Some similarity, but your fifth starter, for example, doesn't become as important in the postseason as it does during the regular season because you really don't use that person.
I think you build it with really good start in pitching.
