Certainly not in his position, especially when this situation has arisen from his tour.
And also, the apolitical thing is nonsense, because he has performed for benefits for Ukraine.
He has spoken up about Black Lives Matter.
He has spoken up for gay rights.
He has complained when a song of his was used in a pro-life commercial.
So, like, you want to leave politics out of it?
Well, sorry, you haven't done that yourself, Ed.
And also on top of this,
This is such a pressing issue of our day and of our time.
And surely you must have known that your friend of 13 years, Macklemore, who has been so vocal on this issue whenever he has a microphone the last three years, do you really think he was just going to play thrift shop and not actually address the crowd at the two shows that he got to play?
And I thought his statement was quite telling when he said, look, I didn't need 10 shows from it.
I only needed two to say what I had to say.
And if that's the result of this tour, it's the most successful one I've ever been on.
It's a wild situation, Matt.
It's possible.
I mean, I think that you look at a moment like this in culture, in entertainment and beyond, and I think it's a huge moment.
I think it is unlocking a lot of people.
I think a lot of people feel a bit more emboldened now to stand up and say things like free Palestine and support people like Michael Moore, where they didn't before.
And I can understand that.
