A man was arrested outside the U.S.

Capitol building yesterday after police say he was seen running toward the building with a shotgun dressed in tactical gear.

As NPR's Sam Greenglass reports, the suspect is identified as an 18-year-old from Georgia.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore has signed legislation that bans local law enforcement from formally assisting U.S.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Rescue teams in the mountains of Northern California say they've rescued six backcountry skiers in blizzard conditions after an avalanche struck northwest of Lake Tahoe.

Authorities in Arizona say DNA from a glove found a couple of miles from the home of Nancy Guthrie did not match anyone in a national database.
