I think they're right.
If the filibuster were to go away, any short-term gains for Republicans in one election would be undermined by the next time Democrats come into power.
They can just blow past these old Senate rules and do whatever they want.

You saw John Ossoff, the senator from Georgia, who was on the ballot this year, who Republicans, not even that privately, think is going to be reelected.

Look, it's one of the few states that's been trending towards Democrats, certainly in the South, it is.
