There was not a lot of worry in this country, if you go by polling or talking to voters, that Iran, which did not have a nuclear capacity, was a threat, was an imminent threat.
You've seen this in the way Republicans talk about the war.
They have changed their talking points.
I think there's been some freelancing, but they've generally settled on, one, this is a 47-year war.
Two, Iran has this ability that's used for decades to fund terrorism in the Middle East.
theoretically against us, although that's, again, not something people worry about.
And three, they could have a nuclear weapon, at which point they could destroy Israel.
They could attack us.
That just hasn't been very credible.
North Korea has, right now, more capacity to attack the United States.
And look at how the White House handled that.
Look at the public sentiment on it.
Just people are not that convinced that this was necessary.
And I can see...
The only response to the president being positive would be if there is a fall, a noticeable fall in gas prices, which is going to lag.
Now, some presidents might use the opportunity to say we're in for a period of pain.
You remember COVID.
This is not how Trump operates.
He is generally kind of Panglossian.
He likes to not, I'm saying declare victory before, but also likes to predict that things are going to be just fine.
