They don't want to be in there.
But there are going to be multiple events where people give speeches.

Well, there's two official Democratic responses.
There's Abigail Spanberger, the new governor of Virginia, and Alex Padilla, the California senator who, if he's most known for anything, it's probably for being roughed up by federal agents when he was at a Kirstie Noem press conference last year.

If I'm counting up the members of Congress at all these events doing their separate speeches, probably about 50 members of Congress who are going to skip the event itself and speak on it elsewhere.
