Nobody kind of knew which people it was designed to work for immediately, but everybody thought it wasn't designed to work for them.
And maybe that's because we were trying to be prescriptive.
We were trying to have authority, as you said earlier, Ben, where in reality, questions open up that dialogue.
Far more conversational, as you said at the time as well.
Well, I do think in the last 10 days I've started to realize something that has cemented my confidence in the effectiveness of all this work we've been talking about.
Given that we've sort of always been doing this anyway, it's not like we're suddenly saying, don't give every dollar a job.
Ignore those non-monthly bills.
You know, we're not doing that.
But I find it interesting that there are so many phrases that smart people have come up with as a result of this work.
That we could have been using for 20 years, but we never thought of them.
Fully funded on the first has come up a couple of times.
We could have been using that for 20 years.
Things like make a plan for all of your money before you spend any of your money.
That came out three months ago or so, but we could have been using it 20 years ago.
So I think it's very interesting.
It's a real sense of strength for me and the team that's delivering this, that we have sort of gone, well, we can get better just because it's caused us pain.
to challenge our own assumptions.
We raise the level of methodological debates by challenging it and questioning it and pulling it apart.
But the fact we can come out with lines that suddenly you go, why wasn't I using that?
That would have been awesome.
