Yeah, it forces the trade-off before the event.
Because I went my first year of YNAB, I've been a customer for more like 16 years.
But my first year of YNAB, I did what a lot of people do, which is passively track.
I was reacting after the fact, albeit with better information.

I've got it now.
But not much is changing yet.
And then suddenly there was this light bulb moment where I realized if I made the trade off before I did the spend, if I didn't have the money where I wanted it, I could move it.
That was classic rules free.
But I also found it made the moment of them spending the money far more enjoyable.
Whether it was the takeout food tastes better because you're not worried that you're spending money that I might consider to be more important on the takeout.
The not knowing and the uncertainty and the second guessing.
Is what it suddenly clicked on for me.
Yeah.
And that's what turned into the how to avoid eating a motorbike.
Yeah, the vintage bike category.
Yeah, and it's no problem doing that as long as I knew I was doing it.
That was the light bulb for me.
Because it's then behavioral change.
