In Project 2025, Brendan Carr, who wrote one of the chapters and now is the head of the FCC, lays out this plan for how to use broadcast licenses and the threat of withdrawing them to pressure these companies.
He uses lays out a plan for how to use censorship and how to shut down PBS and NPR.
So they're very much very systematically moving through these important watchdogs because they know how effective they are.
And they also know where the weak points are.
Corporate ownership is very much one of those weak points.

Yeah, I mean, even before this press conference, you saw Trump overnight on Truth Social, you know, talking about just basically speculating about what had happened and just tweeting what he's seeing on TV.
And it's such a strange role for a president to do that.
He seems much more interested in sort of commenting on it and and being just a voice than actually doing anything about it.
Like this is a man who is the commander in chief.
This, you know, helicopter is in his army.
He has unparalleled resources to be investigating what's happening.
And what he's doing is just like kind of running his mouth.
And we saw more of this at the press conference.
Like if it weren't bad enough for the president to sort of offer no sympathy and to wade into this with speculation and to sort of, you know, place blame on all kinds of people, on the air traffic controllers, on the pilots, then for him to turn this into this sort of racist talking point was really astonishing.
Yeah.
