our own board showed in the leadership team to back us on this journey because now we have all those component parts with the financial restructure, a North Star in our new strategy, and obviously having embarked on a significant, and I can't understate the scale of it, like we ultimately...
sadly, saw 25% of the organisation depart.
And, you know, I'm hugely grateful to all of my colleagues for all their efforts.
There's been, you know, amazing servants in there to the game over the last 10, 15, 20 years.
But it was the first time, maybe, in that time that the organisation took stock to say, where are we headed and are we set up for success?
right size the business you have to right size the organization you have to be able to say as difficult as the transition might be it'll put you on a better footing for further for the next for the future i suppose absolutely and look i you know speaking from experience i know yeah i look we all know uh the industry you're in and the challenges that you face but um for us it was grounded in three objectives one strategic alignment two cultural change i think we we
aspire to be a high performing organization.
I don't think we always achieve it.
There are certain pockets where we are really world class, but we want to be that in every aspect of what we do.
And also, I think, you know, by virtue of the change, we're hoping to bring about greater diversity within the organization as well.
And then the third one being financial stability as well.
Yeah.
So those three things were what gave me
I wouldn't say the comfort.
It's a very uncomfortable thing to do, but the confidence that it was the right thing to do for Irish football moving forward.
Understandably, yes.
We had a workforce of maybe 265 people.
Our expenditure on that workforce accounted for maybe 27% of our turnover.
the European average is 17%.
So, you know, again, it comes back to having the confidence that something's not... You need a leaner organisation.
