I didn't want to see protests.

I didn't want to see disruption.

I didn't want to see people being forced to take to the streets.

But that was a consequence of a government that didn't act.

And when they did act, when they did take to the streets... We ventilated that.

Let David call now.

What we have, again, is been from the Minister.

I made it very clear a moment ago.

I didn't want to see any protests.

We didn't need to see blockades.

We didn't need to see people out on the streets.

But that was a consequence of government action.

Once people took to the streets and they were decent people in the main, ordinary workers, farmers, hauliers, I'm not going to condemn them for coming out and putting it up to a government that abandoned them and left them on their own.

But these protests... But you said you supported the blockades, David.

I said I supported the protests and the protesters.

And I'm not going to dance on the head of a pin.

I supported the protesters.

I was out on the streets.

I make no apologies to that, to you or anybody else.

What you didn't do is support the people of this country.
