He's going to be on the market, Giannis.
There's no shadow of a doubt.
This is a good example of, okay, are the Bulls going to be part of that conversation?
If Giannis goes on the block like a lot of people expect โ
Are the Bulls going to be at the point in their growth, development, or rebuild where they are open to that kind of conversation?
Should they be?
And you want to be able to trust that plan.
The executive is, I think, going to be the guy that presents that plan, and it's going to have to be in concert with what Billy Donovan says, essentially.
Unless he wants to be that director of basketball operations and head coach, and he will hire somebody to work basically for him.
Tom Thibodeau did it in Minnesota.
And that was a lot to take on.
I don't think that he would want to take on all of that.
Maybe he wants to move upstairs the way Brad Stevens did, but I would be surprised if he did.
He's a coach, and I think he wants to coach.
So, Cam, everybody's talking about Michael Reinsdorf's 30-minute Zoom session yesterday, and a lot of the focus is on his comment that if the next general manager or lead executive isn't interested in taking the job if Billy Donovan is still here and decides to stay, then he's the wrong guy for the job.
What was your reaction to that, and how much do you think it does, if in fact you think it does, limit the field?
So when we talk about Billy Donovan, I think we all sort of agree that it would be surprising if he walked away.
Still remains a possibility, but I would be surprised if he walked away from the Bulls organization, even though he might have justification to.
So Cam, of the other two options, remaining as a coach and doing what he's always done and loves to do, or Michael Reinsdorf addressed it, moving into what he called a Brad Stevens role in the front office.
How would you balance those two things against each other?
