But what they resolved in the end was that if you're going to build a data center, you're going to have to generate your own electricity.

And 50% of that electricity has to be green energy.

So I think they kind of tried to appease both sides.

But what I really found fascinating was talking to a CEO of a data center company.

And what he told me was that they don't employ a lot of people.

And so once you might have a huge investment in data center, they're not that many people inside.

They only have a handful of people working in there.

So...

Is this going to be another jobs destruction industry whereby you build this data center, you put lots of money into it, and as Emily highlighted, you're going to push up energy costs for people, you're going to push up water costs if there is any water around that cools all of these supercomputers in there.

But you're not going to have that many jobs.

And so what are people going to do?

Just stand and look at a data center?

You know, what we're hearing at the moment, Will, what seems to be happening in the economy right now is that it's running piping hot at one end, and then it's running stone cold at the other.

And how can an economy like that possibly meet the needs of the people in the middle?

And I think it's the people in the middle who are being caught right now, and they don't know what exactly is happening, particularly with

AI.

This is probably the most confusing, I think, time for not just investors like me, but I think just for the people in general to try and understand what is happening in the economy right now.

How can banks, you know, like JP Morgan report a 40% increase in profits, Goldman Sachs, 80% increase in profits.

And yet at the other end, people are just struggling to

and just trying to live from hand to mouth.
