part of the problem is the Royals have a lot of these guys that you look at and you go, if you can hit him seventh in a lineup every day, you probably have a pretty good lineup.

If you hit him fifth every day and he's hitting fifth for the second straight day, your lineup is probably in a little bit of trouble.

And the Royals lineup is in a little bit of trouble this year because of a lot of injuries right now, at least because of injuries, because of underperformance, all that.

But like, if you go into the season next year, Michael Massey is your seven hitter.

I think you feel good about that offense.

I think you feel good about a guy you think can hit 260, 265, 270, 300 on base, 430 slugging percentage, good defense.

I think you feel good about that.

To your point, other teams would too, and maybe there's value there, but also the fact you look around at second baseman, it's not great right now.

Well, maybe you can find Nick Loftin.

The one thing I'll push back on, you mentioned Garcia.

I still will say the numbers before he hurt his hand were in line with last year.

The overall numbers are not good.

I don't know if his hand's ever going to feel better.

So let's not pretend that we know what's going on because he went on a rehab assignment, and the second he hit a foul ball, oh, it hurts again.

So who knows?

Is he going to need surgery?

Is it ever going to recover?

I don't know.
