Preschooler Liam Conejo Ramos arrived back in the Minneapolis area Sunday morning.

He was released from an immigration detention center south of San Antonio under a federal court order.

Representative Joaquin Castro says he accompanied them from the South Texas family residential area.

Liam is now back home with his hat and backpack, Castro, a Democrat, wrote on social media yesterday.

A picture of the boy in a floppy bunny ear hat before he was taken by ICE came to represent the immigration crackdown in Minnesota.

His return follows a sharply worded ruling by a San Antonio-based federal judge who ordered the government to release the father and son by Tuesday.

Guards started to shout, everybody out, everybody out.

There's been an incident.

So I left and walked out.

And as I was walking back to my car, I heard what sounded like hundreds of children shouting.

Adrian Gonzalez was the first law enforcement officer to arrive at Robb Elementary on May 24, 2022, when a gunman was shooting at the school.

Prosecutors alleged Gonzalez hesitated and did not do his duty.

The gunman was able to enter a classroom and kill 19 students and two teachers.

After deliberating for more than seven hours, the Nueces County jury found Gonzalez not guilty in the 29 counts of child endangerment.

This was the first trial over the response to the Uvalde attack.

Former school district police chief Pete Arredondo is also expected to be tried.
