David Medina pleaded not guilty to charges including obstructing an official proceeding and destroying government property.
The charges related to his involvement in the January 6th riot at the U.S.
But they were dismissed last year when President Trump pardoned more than 1,500 people charged or convicted of crimes related to the breach.
Medina, a Republican based outside of Portland, announcing a run for Oregon governor Tuesday.
His campaign website says he's become one of the leading conservative voices in
one of America's most progressive regions, calling for extraordinary change.
Oregon Governor Tina Kotak, a Democrat, is running for re-election, and looking to unseat her is Oregon State Senator Christine Drazen, a Republican who lost her bid to Kotak in 2022.
