Many, many Lebanese of all denominations are furious about the fact they were dragged into the war.
But they're also furious now because Israel has retaliated in such a way that a million people have been driven from their homes.
That is 20 percent of the population.
Just think about the numbers.
One in five Lebanese driven from their homes.
Only about 150,000 are in a shelter.
A shelter, by the way, means a school.
I visited them on Wednesday.
It's very weird.
You've got the Beirut Yacht Club.
Yeah.
And then there are tents outside.
And so Lebanon's situation, you mentioned 2025, they got a credible government in 2025.
It was offering a new political settlement for the country.
Right.
What starts in one region doesn't stop in that region.
The war in Iran is not going to stop in the Middle East.
The war in Sudan doesn't stop in North Africa.
This is now a hyper-connected world, and its risks are connected, and its benefits are unequally distributed.
And its risks are distributed all over, whether it be health risks, whether it be nuclear risks, whether it be refugee flows that you mentioned.
