I remember going, I remember playing my 700 game
There was a person called George Armstrong who'd been in the 600s and I think he was 6-2-1 and there was a big thing, I went to 6-2-2 and there was a big thing on that day of presentation, beating it.
And then, it was a big thing then, your first player in history to go into the 700s.
I remember George coming in afterwards and he meant, well done.
Nothing else, you know.
And when I finished, Gary said something about Sheffield Wednesday.
After that cup finals, my last game, I was leaving.
all George said to me was, we went back to Sopwell House and the cup was there and everybody, George was leaving then, it was late, it was extra time and all that, George was leaving and said, you make sure, he used to put the onus on me a lot, you make sure everything's all right and keep an eye on Tony, you know, all this stuff.
And he just said, see you on your travels.
And that was it.
And you were gone?
And he went, you know, he went.
I remember that cup.
At the end of the night, the FA Cup was standing, Riley was in the room, you'd gone to bed, the FA Cup was there.
I was going home, Joy hadn't come to the match, so she'd come to Sopwell House to pick me up and got in the car and the Cup was there.
And I thought, I'd better take it home.
