It was a bad break, you know, in that way.
So a lot of those lads,
didn't kick on the way I thought he did.
Rio did, I always thought he was going to be.
On the Verduca one, I went up to Celtic to watch the midweek games and I thought, the way I want to play, I'd like him and want him.
And we got him.
Mark was a really top lad.
The bigger the game, the better the game.
I've always loved going to Old Trafford or in those Champions League nights, going away places.
You get to a stadium, you get turned on by, I knew.
But then we'd come home against Southampton, maybe, and I was thinking, it's going to be a nightmare because there'd be no interest in this.
Do you know Alex Keita, George's assistant, they were good friends as well when they beat each other.
I remember I was coming into the dressing room or coming into George's office after the game and he went,
place drives me mad you know I look at the fixtures when it comes up Leeds you're always going to get this rivalry there you know I mean I went to the but even at Old Trafford you know not just at Leeds where you know it could obviously be tough supporters are unbelievable I mean I got some grief after I went to the Champions League final in Barcelona and you know and I was cheering Man United on instead of Bayern Munich
But the grief I got for that and knowing, you know, that's the passion of that.
But look, you've all been there.
It's a ground that needs renovating and that, but it's a great old style, passionate ground with an atmosphere in it.
It was a passionate place.
I remember with that great young team you were, it was a passionate team.
They got to the ball.
