I don't think that's good for the average person living in this country.
I don't think that's good for anybody that just cedes power to some of the worst people.
The difficult one is the regulation piece.
Yeah, there are really varied appetites as to to what degree should there be regulation of AI, large language models and all of this stuff.
I don't know that there I don't believe the immediate solution is going to come from regulation.
especially with the people that are in power right now.
And so it would be nice to have a regulatory framework that makes sense.
You know, Neil Postman, who was a technologist, he would write time spent opposing new technologies is basically worthless.
This is my paraphrasing.
What society needs to do is figure out the right type and level of regulation of new technologies and how to maximize the good while limiting the bad.
That's essentially my view on these algorithms, these platforms and on AI.
I don't think that the idea of stopping them dead in their tracks and eliminating them is even plausible.
And no matter what the United States does, other some other countries aren't going to do that.
And it's going to be there.
It's going to spread.
So I would rather skip to the let's maximize the good, figure out what level of regulation we need to limit the bad and educate people.
I mean, a lot of kids don't even get media literacy anymore at all.
It's just not taught in school.
educate people so that they understand how these algorithms work.
We have a sort of understanding that advertising wants to influence us.
