And the call went completely off the rails.

Again, one board member said it was effing crazy, another said Trump was screaming.

over the Kennedy Center's financial problems and said, your involvement has made us be indebted and we can't get out of the debt.

And then apparently Trump and Beattie got into a heated argument.

And it is an incredible situation when, of all the things that are going on,

Trump is personally calling into a performing arts center at the end of the day, a board meeting for a performing arts center after losing a court case about putting his name on the building and screaming at people.

Now, shortly afterward, the Trump aligned board voted to close most of the Kennedy Center for renovations.

They're justifying that by saying, hey, we've got structural and financial concerns here.

There's another part of this that Trump has made explicit, which is that the renovation isn't going to happen if the courts won't eventually let me put my name on the building.

And he wrote, if the appeals court rules against me and the Supreme Court doesn't reverse it, we are not going to do any of the renovation.
