He's like, especially you, you have a huge platform.

I can't imagine what your fricking text messages or inbox look like.

Cause you could, you coming on your show could literally change some people's lives.

And so the problem is they're going to give, they're going to act in a way to you.

That's not their real self, right?

And so Daniel's point about this was just like, you know, if you feel you're developing a friendship with somebody, have other people you trust, then go and spend time with this person because the way they act with you might be different from them.

But I'm telling you, all these people, and I've built a lot of friendships with a lot of guests I've had on my show, the amount of

times they have told me it's just like everything comes down to the quality of people that you have around you your life is your relationships that's another great maximum your life is your relationships if you have a bunch of shitty people around you like you're going to have a shitty life they're going to cause drama unneedlessly because they they will drown in a cup of water

I've cut a couple of these people out of my life in, you know, way less than I have to now because I've been so like, I have a very small circle.

I would say I just talk, my natural tendency is not to have a thousand shallow relationships.

It's just talk to the same half a dozen people over and over and over again.

And when I'm doing that, I can be by myself.

I'm very comfortable reading a book, making a solo podcast.

I don't give a shit.

I don't need to go out and constantly socialize and expose myself to the vagaries of other people's corrosive and destructive behavior.

I'm not interested in that.

And this is Rick Rubin.

You and I, we just talked about this.

We just both read his book, Creative Act.

And towards the end of that book, he has this thing called the house on the mountain test.
