I think some of it is FDR's charm.
He's a likable guy in a lot of ways.
I always call him Thurston Howell III with a heart, right?
He's got that aristocratic persona, right?
He knew how to use the media better than anyone.
I think the aristocracy helped him because if he'd have been a rabble-rouser type, even charismatic like Huey Long, I don't think he would have been as successful.
