But I'm concerned that those reasons are question begging.
I mean, I'm worried that they trade on an intuition we have about how we like people.
the world to be, um, rather than on anything that's actively required.
I don't see any reason we can't, but from any given perspective, we can't tell a completely good story about how the scientific method plays out.
Um, including from my perspective, I can say that from your perspective, these things match my perspective.
The whole thing sort of commutes down.
Um, the only thing you can't say is from the absolute God's eye perspective, um,
every perspective disagrees because that statement is just not grammatically even really inside this sort of a relation with courage.
It's kind of a bit analogous to ideas about the sort of nature of time.
If you were to say, look, I insist that scientific facts
are always true, then there's a clear necessity that various scientific assumptions have to be always true.
We can't assume that they're just true sometimes and then stop being true later.
But if you'd say that scientific claims must be true in a tenseless fashion, then that would be smuggling in a piece of metaphysics that might be defensible on metaphysical grounds, but which would be going substantially beyond the internal to scientific practice analysis.
I think that's fair.
I mean, to tie that back to where we were previously, try this.
I mean, I'm saying I think the relationists should commit to the bit.
But I think if they do, they probably get to where we were talking about earlier, where relationism becomes an extremely close relative of the Everett interpretation.
And these two accept a whole bunch of things that you find unacceptable, and the many relationists don't particularly want to buy either.
In denying their inner Everettian-ness, the relationists run exactly into the problem you're describing, because I do agree that these hybrids are very difficult to sustain.
