Um if worlds are defined by, you know, decohering in the formal sense and not having interference of that kind of having autonomous dynamics of their own, that's never going to be perfect.

Uh well, fundamentally, yes, there's just one world in the same sense that fundamentally there are no planets, fundamentally you don't exist.

Um, so there's a sense of the word fundamentally where you could use that.
Um and for some purposes that's quite useful.
Um but it can be misleading.

I mean there's a reason the book's called The Emergent Multiverse.

Um I think physics and science generally is trying to capture what's happening.
Some of what's happening is what's happening fundamentally.
Um, but there's more to life than what's happening fundamentally.
Uh quantum mechanics, for instance, not quantum field theory or quantum gravity, quantum mechanics
Um, in the yeah, the kind of thing you study is an undergraduate does not try to capture what's happening fundamentally, because it's studying non-relativistic electrons and atomic nuclei.
um treated as point particles.
Those aren't fundamental.
