It was really hard.
You know, when we first went around to the department stores, they said they didn't want our hang tags on it because it was for black guys on the hang tag.
And they said, we don't want those type of people coming here getting into shootouts.
Damn.
And I was like,
How you going to get in the shootout if you're buying clothes?
So we went to the hood and we realized where we should go.
So we first started selling, we first started going to 145th Street.
And then we went to eight stores in New York who took us.
But what happened was we didn't realize 145th Street, a lot of people moving weight coming up and down the Eastern Seaboard would stop at 145th Street, do whatever they got to do and buy clothes.
And it would start to spread.
And about
Two years after that, a mom and pop shop that would have, you know, one store now had four stores because they were selling FUBU and Mecca started a pop and all these other ones.
So the department stores were starting to lose business.
And then, of course, it was a misunderstanding.
And all of a sudden, they wanted to stop bringing us in.
We made a mistake.
We didn't really get that.
I'm saying, yeah, we made a mistake.
