You know, he just didn't really fit any of the things I had learned.
as a teacher, as a parent in all of my research myself.
And
Uh once he went to school, he really struggled.
He was kicked out of preschool.
Um, kindergarten, he was in trouble a lot.
Um, super active, um, always getting calls from school.
Um, twice exceptional, but I didn't know that term at the time.
But he tested gifted and then was really struggling in other areas and so it was really baffling what was happening.
And then by first grade and second grade he was uh suspended more days than he was in school.
And so that's when I decided to
stop teaching.
I had decided to stop teaching already because I wanted to open my own school eventually, project based and directed towards differently wired kids that learn differently and need that out-of-the-box teaching methods.
And that didn't happen because I ended up homeschooling him.
And I like to say I homeschooled him against my will.
Um, and in the process, I just documented the ups and downs of what I was learning and shared that on the blog.
And that has kind of gotten us to where we are today.
Yeah, so it I mean it became really evident when he was three years old, even, and he was at preschool and he had something that I like to call peeled grape syndrome.
Now, this is not a real thing.
No one's gonna diagnose your kid with peeled grape syndrome.
