And I'm I'm gonna give you um I'm gonna share a secret that is kind of embarrassing considering I'm now considered a parenting expert and I write books and I'm authoring another book, but
Um, I didn't read a book until I was in college.
Now I still had a four point five grade point average in high school.
But I never read a single book.
I just listened to the conversations in the class.
And I thought that something was wrong with me.
And I thought that I was cheating the system, but I've come to find out that I just process information differently.
I process information auditorily and through conversation and through feedback instead of reading.
Even now I listen to audiobooks and I listen to them on 2x speed, or I can't I get distracted.
Um, and so when I read, I have to have, you know, none of us knew this, but like
putting blinders so that I only read a small section at a time.
Um, because I would get distracted too easily and I'd have to reread the same page four or five times over again.
Um, I was never diagnosed with anything.
I was always in all the gifted um classes, but I definitely
learned different than my peers and it always made me feel like I was broken somehow.
Honestly, I think I'm still on that journey.
Um, you know, if I'm being totally honest, I
You know, the more that I learn about different functions of the brain and different wirings and the way we're all just
wired so uniquely.
Um, you know, when I learned about executive functioning, it was such an aha moment.
