Like you need to get your kid on ADHD meds because it's a classroom management issue.

They're moving, they can't focus, they're disruptive, all of those things.

I always had such a knee-jerk reaction, like the school should not be dictating that your child is on meds.

And it's something some parents really grapple with, and they have to really explore to make sure this feels right for them.

I'd love to know your thoughts on meds and how they can be folded into other interventions.

One of the things you said that medication can be truly life-changing and when our family ultimately, including my child, we decided, okay, in high school, let's explore this and see if this is beneficial for you.

What I heard from other parents is like, it shouldn't be like, I think it's working.

And I'm just wondering if you could speak to that and then how do you begin exploring

In terms of side effects or whether or not it's working, have you found that there are some people with ADHD for whom meds just simply aren't effective or the negative side effects kind of outweigh any benefits they might have?

Yeah, I feel like I just read something about that, that there are some combined with SSRIs.
podcast-host
So that is exciting because we know, especially with neurodivergent kids, I will just say like a lot of my listeners have kids who have multiple things going on in their audio HD, the anxiety, depression, like there's a lot of moving pieces.
