So that all sounds a bit time consuming, but actually I think the important point is if we can create a safe, calm, respectful environment

The honest answer is trying to um uh in a time critical situation, it it it's never an ideal situation.
I just want to just pick up on a point which actually is relevant here.
So one of the things that I drew working in antenatal care a and s and it is that ongoing conversation, um, not as a a one off thing.
But as I said before, in terms of, you know, what does consent look like?
Having women and partners understand that.
The other thing which I really want to speak to is actually um letting women know, giving them permission.
The
having birth m making decisions and consenting in especially if it's in a time critical situation or just really being um in labour and I sort of think
I was sort of thinking of an analogy.
Say you go to bed w with a tummy ache and then suddenly all these people come rushing into the room um and whiz you off in an ambulance and take off to have your appendix out and you're having to sort of process all of this.
It it's a bit the same if you're in
Good labour and one of the things that women talk about in my research all the time.
Suddenly all these strangers came rushing into the room.
