And she wears a galley on her head.
What we have right here, literally a few hundred yards away, is a sign which says the Spanish Armada, where the Spanish Armada was wrecked.
Right.
And that's what we see played out in our show.
We have the Armada falling from her pole because she's being shipwrecked.
The place is full of memories and magic that I think we can't wait to play here because it will seep up through the performance and the performers and they will feel it.
I think they'll really feel it.
So hopefully then the audience will feel it too.
So here we're standing on the performance area that looks right out across the ocean.
And the first thing we have to make sure is that the ground is absolutely level because we can't have a wobbly rig.
It's a self-standing rig.
It doesn't need to be pinned down, but the ground has to be level.
So first we get our giant rig.
Spirit levels out, we make sure that everything is level and then we use small planks like chucks to make it, if it isn't, to alter the heights.
It takes nine people to raise a rig.
So we build it flat and then we lever it up with human power.
We're an all-female company.
all women lift the lift the rig sometimes what we find it's very funny we might see a man or two sort of scurrying across the road say we'll come and help we'll come and help you and they they think they're going to be they see all these women and they think oh we're going to be very useful to them what they don't realize is circus women are the strongest women in the whole
Well, we're Circus 250 and our circus company is based on Ackle Island.
So we're often performing outside there too.
