We're in Cork today at the Republic of Work, which means I'm joined by two Cork women from her own podcast named after her, Deirdre O'Shotnessy, who is also opinion editor with the Irish Examiner, where Jennifer Horgan is a columnist and, of course, secondary school teacher as well.
And both of them have been on the programme many times before.
Great to see you both here in the studio in Cork.
Deirdre, have you been following the Hanta virus over the last week?
Why would it worry you?
And a bit alarmist.
Sorry, this is the return of Sam McConkie.
We haven't had him on The Last Word in years.
Will you explain this to me?
Because this is the one thing I was given out about last weekend.
Listening to the radio reports,
And it seemed to be an assumption that everyone would know what an antivirus was.
Do you not know all the viruses now?
But hold on, weren't there more people sick than just the two people that died?
So they weren't all kicking up dust in the same dump, were they?
Or was there something going on in the air conditioning system on the cruise?
That's not great.
So Jennifer, these people, some people were allowed to disembark the ship.
It's been kept off the coast of Tenerife.
There's no talk of it docking.
