So there are some financial planners that will specialise in particular areas.
They might just give advice on insurance or might just give advice on superannuation and retirement planning.
I look at really comprehensive advice and that's where I look at things like somebody's cash flow and their budgeting, you know, non-super investments, their superannuation and retirement planning, estate planning, risk management like their insurance and debt management.
So really looking at the whole framework.
financial wheel, as we like to call it.
And I guess financial planning is really a balancing act around living a good life now but also saving for our future.
It is a balancing act and a financial planner can really help with those trade-off discussions too and kind of work backwards around what do we need in the future and what can we spend now and try to get that right, strike that right balance.

Yeah, definitely.
And I think a lot of it comes down to like the emotional and behavioural finance side of things as well where we think we'll – like we're really good at saying we're going to do better in the future.

I'll see them at retirement and tell them they can afford to retire and they can stop work now, but they still don't feel like they have enough and they'll just keep working that one year more or whatever it is.
Like they just really struggle to let go sometimes and are really nervous about running out.
So, yeah, definitely a balancing act and I also struggle with it, so I'm not immune to it.
