So stage five, Mac on to Belleville on Beaujolais, 140 kilometres, eight classified climbs, 2,900 metres of climbing.
And one stage we all had earmarked as one that could be decisive on the GC.
And in the end it was.
Took a long time for a break to form, but then on the descent of the Calder Font Martin, the fourth categorised climb, 19 riders finally went clear, and it was a very serious crowd.
Right.
Antonia Niedermeyer was the best place on GC and was the virtual yellow jersey for a while, but it also included riders such as Fempka de Vries, Dominika Vlodicek, Leana Lippert, Justin Hakira, Maver Squirband, Puck Pitsa, and Nee Fisher Black.
But it was on the penultimate climb, the Calderbees, where the race really began to be decided.
Music wound it up for FTJ, cut the Peloton to a dozen, Celia Jury took over, and out went Van der Bregen, Cedrin Cabol, Mavi Garcia, and Kim Lecourte.
Then Volering attacked 700 meters from the summit and Ferron Bravo cracked.
Koch and Lippert pulled the G C group back uh to what remained of the break at twenty two kilometres to go uh before Roycer took six bonus seconds at Saint Lager.
Uh then Berthay drove it up.
