Bayern have got a really big Pokal match coming up, quarterfinal game against Leipzig, which, of course, we'll have on ESPN Plus on Wednesday.
And I'm not sure against the talent that is Yandhi Omande, I'm not sure that Bayern are going to trust
Davies in his current form playing at left back against the threat of Diomande.
So I think that tells you where we are with him.
It does happen, of course, doesn't it?
You guys know as former players, you come back from long-term injury and it does take you a while.
He's had some okay moments.
Remember in the match against Hamburg just a week and a half ago, he had a very spectacular clearance almost right on the line.
It looked as though Fabio Vieira was going to score for Hamburg.
A big breakaway moment.
but you're not really judging Davies on moments like that.
You're judging on his ability mostly to get forward and to be a threat going forward, as well as to defend from time to time.
But he had difficulties even dealing with 33-year-old Vladimir Tsofal of Hoffenheim at the weekend there.
So I think for the moment, while we know he's a super player, you know, one of the best in his position anywhere in the world, it's stopped down right now for Alphonso Davies.
I think that is the big issue.
He's just not quite back to where he was.
I would anticipate that he probably will get there.
But Vincent Compagny, the Bayern coach, actually said it pretty well.
He said that there's no such thing as a soft reintegration with Bayern when you come back from injury at this time of year.
You know, they had, what, seven games in 20 days in January.
