But I also look at Goodread and Kachuk very differently because
I believe to this day that if it was up to Johnny Goodreau and only Johnny Goodreau, he would have preferred to stay in Calgary and with the Plains organization.
But his family's out east, his wife is from out east, and uh uh eventually uh it came to a point where uh he decided to sign uh as a free agent with the blue jackets and Johnny Goodreau going to Columbus, I don't think is plan B or C either.
So uh
Rest in peace, Johnny.
We certainly miss Johnny hockey.
Matthew Kachuk is a much different one for me.
And I'm not sure it would have mattered if Johnny Goodreaux stayed or not.
I think that Matthew Kachuk wanted to play south of the border and probably wanted to play in one of two or three cities.
And for me, and I don't know if you guys see it the same way, I think Matthew Kachuk has changed the game.

You got Jonathan Hubertot, who the year prior finished tied for second with the late Johnny Goodreau in the Art Ross Trophy race, 115 points.
You got Mackenzie Weager, who we knew was going to be a top four defenseman for the Flames.
They got a first round pick as well, and Cole Schwint in that deal.
Looked like a pretty good trade for a team that was.
