GA Plus are not just playing the role of, oh, we'll pick up the slack on the games that wouldn't be shown otherwise.
They're now sort of saying, no, we're going to take the best games.
That is the shift in 2026.
The best football games for the meat of the season will now be behind a paywall.
And I don't suspect GA Plus are inclined to be too bothered by the criticism anymore.
What is your reading of what's happening?
Yeah, because I suppose, Colm, it's worth saying for people who mightn't be aware, with this new championship structure this year, previous contractual TV arrangements were null and void.
And so the GA, you know, it's not just, oh, GA Plus, we've just magically been given first choice, it's just happened.
This has been a very deliberate GAA decision to give them first choice.
And of course, then they're going to pick the best game, as is their right.
But the interesting debate, perhaps, that GAA might have had around the table is, well, should we give free-to-air?
Obviously, by de facto, it's going to be RT.
Should we give free-to-air the first choice so that the most glamorous, brilliant, kind of hyped-up game is free-to-air, captures the imagination?
Geez, you might pull in half a million people watching it.
We'll dominate the weekend.

And that's the subtle change, I think.
even though there's a journey home for both afterwards so this one with the safety net for both this is just the right temperature just the right juicy enough fixture that this will bring in subscribers which like and GA Plus is entitled to be a viable concept and you know you want it to succeed so this is just the right level to pitch in and it'll make some people go oh feck I have to subscribe now without we missed Kerry being knocked out of the championship
And Galway, I mean, Dublin were knocked out of the championship by Galway on G8 Go, but obviously it wasn't expected to happen.
