And, no, we don't know that for sure.
But they did look flat today.
And flatter than I expected.
I thought it would be a lot closer.
I didn't rule them out winning it.
James Maguire there, you know, was very good for them.
Yeah, so it's hard to know what to put your finger on, but it's very hard not to be disappointed for a lot of people tonight because they came down great numbers today, there was great colour, great vibrancy in the atmosphere before the game.
and it's deadly when there's a new kind of team on the scene we all love to see that and you know this is incredible to think 69 years uh since they were at this stage before you know and nearly 70 years isn't it incredible and um so that is an achievement in itself um i know these fellas have ambition to go further they don't want to be settling for these kind of moral victories around like that
but they have made progressive improvement in the last number of years.
Five years ago they were, what, in Division 4?
Yeah.
They've worked it up to a first Linster Championship in, what, nearly, what was it, 60, 90 years?
68 years, was it?
And then, you know, getting into the semi-final stage, another kind of breakthrough, breaking through another barrier, and of course getting into those group stages in the All-Ireland Series a few years ago then as well, and getting out of them into All-Ireland quarter-finals.
you know three linster finals in a row all this was progress you know they've gone through from a situation where they were getting beatings hidings to where you know you don't tend to knock them around yesterday by a bit but they have been improving improving improving despite changes of management and all that type of thing and uh so they're in division two they did quite respectfully uh respectively this year in division two they weren't far off promotion they have to really drive towards getting up into division one on the new year
put this behind them, consider all the positives they have, which there are plenty, and take it on.
As they have done the last few years, I've no doubt they'll do it.
It wasn't a true reflection of them there today, but I think they just ran out of gas.
He should have mentioned that, but he's a huge loss.
They needed that dynamism, didn't they, coming forward?
