54-year-old Nargis Mohammadi has served more than a decade in prison for her human rights work on behalf of women and prisoners in Iran.
On May 1st, she collapsed in her cell in what her family believes was a heart attack.
Her family and supporters launched a public campaign and legal fight to call for her release.
Her brother, Hamid Reza Mohammadi, told NPR.
After her successful transfer to Pars Hospital in Tehran, Mohammadi's foundation released a photo of her sitting up in bed.
They urged supporters to call for her unconditional release and dismissal of all charges.
