But it is actually saying, as if we're in a communist country, that somehow or other you've no choice.
And we give everybody else a choice.
I understand it's a dilemma, but I think it's very unfortunate and I think it's making women feel very unsafe that they have no choice, that they cannot say who their choice of doctor is, that they have to go along with this new system.
Because new consultants coming on stream will have no beds.
If they stuck with a private contract only, most of these people are in their 40s, maybe coming up to 50s.
And it is also interesting that consultants like Peter Boylan have written about this, like the master of the Rotunda who has stuck his neck out.
And I've written to him to congratulate him, as have a lot of women.
When I rang up for his email, I was told there's slews of people writing in and they have a phone line in the Rotunda nearly.
Paula Street Master was on this morning and she was extremely articulate and she explained her experience
sense was that women were not being listened to.
