Sue was really nervous.
She got emotional there at one point. Then she spoke directly to Sandra. She forgave Sandra for what she had done.
There was no acknowledgment. Sandra had always been a paradox in this way.
Ms. Rearig was trying to get it reopened.
I never got word back from him. So I called Ms. Rerig and asked Ms. Rerig. I said, look, I said, go to your church, have them write letters, get up with the DA, tell them you want the case reopened.
And the DA ultimately got up with the cold case department. It worked. And I finally got a call from Kyle Estridge.
The whole time I had her in custody, she would never admit to having a third husband named Alan Rehrig.
I mean, she just totally refused to say that she was married to him.
And of course, they subpoenaed Brett, Emily. And Catherine, Emily testified. Brett, of course, his attorney pled the fifth for him. And Catherine, she pled the fifth.
In talking with Catherine, I believe she knew something was suspicious. That was about as far as she got with her. Brett was a different story. Brett was almost cold and said, contact my attorney. He was just like his mother. You contact my attorney.
She told me at one point during an interview that while on vacation in California at a resort, Alan and Britt were out using jet skis and her mother had asked, her brother to run over Alan with the jet ski, make it look like an accident.
We didn't feel like we had any real cooperation from the Dallas police. They just dropped the ball. They didn't put in the time to actually do the research. They took the word of everybody else around him.
I was introduced to a case pertaining to a victim by the name of Sue Mosley My lieutenant called me one day and asked me to report to St. James for a possible financial crime.
The realty agent didn't know how to get up with Ms. Mosley's family, so he contacted the security gate.
Ron contacted my lieutenant, and my lieutenant sent me.
I contacted Ms. Sue Mosley's son, Jimmy, and asked him to have permission to talk with his mother and get permission for me to do a search warrant on her home to collect evidence so that I can do the process of getting any warrants that I can obtain to have her arrested as soon as possible.
Because of the fact that there were other reports out there from Dallas, Texas and Oklahoma on Ms. Sandra Camille Powers and some of the potential fraud cases that were coming out of those areas on the West Coast.
I went back to my office. I called Glenna Whitley so that I could collect whatever she had on Ms. Sandra Camille Powers. We definitely hit the ball running that day.
I did the first warrant approximately three days after I received the information.
In Ms. Mosley's kitchen area, there was pads of notebook paper that had Ms. Sue Mosley's name written on it. It was a repeated signature, almost as if somebody was trying to duplicate Ms. Mosley's signature.
