The police department in Fort Scott, Kansas, told us that they had destroyed the case files of any cases that had happened before 1953 or 54.

So that was a dead end.

Well, yeah.

We looked for classmates that could tell us, and we just kept coming up with zeros.

Nobody remembered it.

I couldn't believe it.

So I drove over there, and I went in to see this woman.
