Maybe it's all about the filters.
If your six year old asks for Instagram, it's probably not because that's where her friends are or because she wants to communicate with her friends.
She probably saw pictures with a cool filter.
Well, maybe you could let her play with Photoshop or one of the sort of cheap alternatives to Photoshop, right?

So the more we know about what our kids are into, the more we can actually find age appropriate ways to support those interests.
And staying curious is a really good idea, observing the way our kids do talk to their friends.
about these things, um, making sure that our kids aren't getting feeling too much pressure to just have an app or a specific piece of technology, a specific kind of phone just because that's what the peers have.
So that I mean, you're home schooling, but certainly in school, like having a visible technology is a big thing.
Like walking around with a certain phone in many communities is a big deal.

It's very similar to having a certain kind of sneaker or jeans and s in that way, but it's a much more functional piece of equipment.
