This guy can dice defenses up without ever having to step outside the tackle box.
I'm willing to bank on the fact that this was more of an injury-related thing and that when he's back to 100%, even if the rushing numbers or scramble numbers continue to trend downward, that we can still see something stable, even if it's not at peak MVP level.
I think we can still get a 30-33 passing touchdown season, and he can kick those interceptions and sacks low enough
to justify him not being a scrambler as often.
So I'm pretty bullish on this team.
I mean, and carrying the entire offense every single down.
I think that the Patriots learned the right lesson from that playoff run, which is that, yes, it is possible that we have
a franchise-changing, game-altering talent at quarterback that could end up being in the MVP race for the next decade.
We also just watched him get absolutely battered by good defenses week over week, and we just saw that slowly sap all the things that made him such a special talent in the regular season.
And they went out, and I think that they, as aggressively as possible, tried to address some of the things that were a problem for them down the stretch of the year.
So you go out, you add an AJ Brown to go be your man beater.
That was what I think they were hoping that Stefan Diggs could have been for them last year before he just kind of settled into being that kind of chain moving zone beating type of underneath threat as a receiver.
You go get a Romeo Dobbs, some who can now fill in for, you know, what Stefan Diggs left behind.
He can be that chain mover type.
He can be a contested catch guy.
He can go make catches in traffic.
and help them stay on schedule as a passing game.
So you check those boxes off.
I still think it's fair to have some questions about their offensive line, but given what they tried to do in one offseason, you go add Elijah Barrett Tucker, who has had health problems throughout his career, but when he's available, plays typically like a top 12 guard in the NFL, especially in the run game, which I think they're going to need
to take some things off of Drake May's plate.
